COVID 3 Day Lockdown Update 30.3.2021

30 March 2021

As everyone is aware the Queensland Government has placed greater Brisbane into lockdown Tuesday 30th, Wednesday 31st and Thursday 1st April to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Unfortunately, we closed the course today 30.3.21 as we were receiving conflicting information on whether we could open the course or not.  Golf Australia and Clubs Queensland were advising we could play golf, and Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation were advising that we could not play golf.

We have now been advised that we are able to open the golf course.

We are fortunate that golf can be played as per Government Directive (extract below):

Non-essential businesses, activities and undertakings

A person who owns, controls or operates a non-essential business, activity or undertaking in an impacted area, including operating at a private residence, must not operate the business, activity or undertaking, with limited exceptions.

  • Cafes, pubs and restaurants no dine in customers - takeaway allowed.
  • Boot camps and personal training to two people outdoors (including the trainer), with physical distancing observed.
  • Social sport is permitted, such as golf and tennis, limited to two people outdoors, with physical distancing observed.

Therefore, as from Wednesday 31st March, the Proshop and Course will open from 6.00am. If you need to enter the Pro Shop, you may only do so if you are wearing a mask, no mask, no entry.

Redcliffe Golf Club has implemented the following for Wednesday 31st and Thursday 1st April, please note that Government Regulations change very quickly so therefore keep an eye out for club emails, facebook posts, APP push notifications and website postings.

An amended timesheet will be released for Wednesday 31.3.21 and Thursday 1.4.21 in groups of 2 players.  The Wednesday timesheet will be released on Tuesday night 30.3.21 online at 6.00pm and the Thursday timesheet will be released on Tuesday night 30.3.21 online at 6.30pm. Members will be given first preference in regard to tee times and then the timesheet will be opened to visitors and social play.

  • All players must sign in via the Qld Government APP for contact tracing, if you do not have a phone you will need to sign in via the IPAD provided.  By using the Qld Government APP you only need to register once and then each time you visit the club you simply just check in.
  • All ball washers, bubblers and water fountains are not to be used unless you use your own sanitiser to sanitise your hands before and after use.
  • Motorised carts (club hired and personal) - one cart, one bag and one person.  No other person is to temporarily drive or sit in the cart. UNLESS proof is shown to the pro shop staff that you live at the same address.
  • Do not pick up or touch another player's golf clubs or golf balls
  • Rakes will be removed from bunkers. If a player's ball lands in a footprint they are entitled to a free drop in the bunker.
  • Flag is to remain in the hole and remove ball with gloved hand or if you don't use a glove then use something suitable such as a hankie or paper towel etc
  • Alcohol not to be consumed on the course or on the premises.  This is extremely important and if not adhered to the Club can lose their liquor licence.  Any player found with alcohol on the golf course will be removed immediately and reprimanded appropriately.
  • Social distancing - maintain a distance of at least 1.5 metres from other players
  • Face masks MUST BE worn when entering the pro shop and only 2 players are to be in the pro shop at any one time.  Please wait at the door until it is okay to enter.  Anyone not wearing a face mask when entering and whilst in the pro shop will NOT BE able to play golf and will be asked to leave the premises.
  • When paying for anything in the pro shop "PAYWAVE" and using your E-Wallett are the only forms of payment that the staff will accept.  NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED. This will ensure that we provide a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Players are not to register themselves into the competition via the touch screens, all players will be registered by the pro shop staff
  • Printer will be placed on the counter and the player will retrieve their own score card from there, it is preferable if players use the MISCORE APP.
  • Players to mark and sign their own card. Just write the markers' name in the marker's signature section otherwise your score card will not scan.
  • Leave your golf glove on your hand to confirm score on touch screen or alternatively use a tissue provided and dispose of tissue immediately after use in the bin provided.
  • IMPORTANT!!!  YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 1.5 METRES FROM ANOTHER PERSON, and you MUST NOT touch another person under any circumstances unless in the case of an emergency.

We ask all members and visitors to ensure they 'do the right thing' and respect the seriousness of this situation. The very last thing the club needs is to become a hotspot and be closed for longer than the Government Directive.  We would like to continue to keep the course open however if players are not doing the right thing, they will face disciplinary action and it may result in the course being closed.

AS PREVIOUSLY ADVISED THE GOVERNMENT MADE CHANGES WITH VERY OR LITTLE NOTICE AND THE ABOVE MAY CHANGE AT ANY TIME.

The Clubhouse and Halfway House will remain closed until Saturday 3rd April 2021 unless otherwise directed by the Queensland Government. We have confirmed with Clubs Queensland that we cannot provide take-away alcohol to be consumed on the golf course.
