News & Updates 2020

The Matchplay final has been played... Longest competition in history I expect.

The finalists were Peggy Broomhall and Shelly O'Reilly, with Peggy winning on the day.

Congratulations to both of you.

Congratulations to Natalie for putting this together for our ladies to get some match play experience.

I'm pretty sure everyone enjoyed the competition.

There was a palpable sense of excitement and activity at the Redcliffe Golf Club for our annual Club Championships.

2020 Ladies Club championships, generously sponsored by Marlene Newcome of Village Motors was a welcome return to a semblance of golfing normality. The event was very well supported with many spectators enjoying the day. I’m sure all the competitors would like to join me in thanking all the caddies, officials, committee, proshop team, photographer Pauline Minnis and spectators for making this such a memorable day.

The A grade match produced some magnificent golf with Amy Hodgkins the ultimate winner defeating a courageous Kristal Lee.

B grade was a nerve raking, nail biting tussle with Chris Sharpe finally victorious over Heather Wallis.

C Grade was an excellent match tenaciously fought with Peggy Broomhall defeating Caroline Donnelly.

Next on the horizon is the Dorothy Banks Charity Day. It’s likely to be very different this year, committee are working on how we will be able to honour and do justice to Dorothy’s memory and contribution to Redcliffe Golf Club.

The question has been asked who was Dorothy Banks?

The question has sparked a little detective work that will be shared with all.

A work in progress, to be continued...

Welcome back to everyone.  It was a cooler day for us which was very refreshing although the wind was pretty gusty at times.  Good scores were achieved with at times challenging conditions. Congratulations to all winners. We had a terrific field of 94 players and special thanks to Hannah Mason for playing with us today.  Hannah is our Golf Operations Manager and part of the Redcliffe PGA Professional Team and will be joining us in some games throughout the year.

Competition Cards

Please be aware that by not returning your card for the day, the process of finalising the competition is held up for the Pro Shop and Committee. No matter what sort of round you have had, all cards should be signed and entered into the card reader. If for some reason you are not returning your card, which we highly discourage, please let the Pro Shop know so that our presentation can go ahead without unnecessary and frustrating delays.

A reminder from the Ladies Committee that some of our sponsored competitions for 2019 will be “Kentucky Days”. This means that participants must be at the presentation to be able to win and collect prizes. On the day, please look for the Ladies Golf notice outside the Pro Shop for Competition Conditions including whether the event is a Kentucky Day.
