Update from Kirsty Hodgkins

03 September 2017

Hi Everyone,

First tournament is done and dusted. We were out at UNM's (University of New Mexico) golf course in Alberquerque. It was a very tough field with many past national champion teams playing. The buffs finished 3rd which is awesome!!!!! I finished tied 10th with scores of 73, 71, 71 for a total of one under. I played very consistent golf and hit just about every green in regulation, the one thing i couldn't do was putt. I made 45 pars out of 54 holes which lead the field for most amount of pars.

Also some of you may have noticed that i now am sporting a very fashionable knee brace. I can still play golf which is the most important, my knee just absolutely hates me if i try and walk so that's problem. I have multiple different injuries which are affecting the knee but hopefully i should be able to take it off soon. I'll be left with a very interesting tan but at least it will be winter soon so hopefully no one will see it.

I'm now studying for my first round of calculus and physics midterms which will be absolutely terrible, so i don't think i will be leaving my room for the next week or so...

Hope everyone is well

Heyyyyyyyy,

It was awesome to see everyone in the couple of months i was back home. Sorry I didn't tell anyone it had to be kept a secret as I was surprising my mum.

I am now settled back into college life. I'm in my own apartment now which is so much better than the dorms. I have also just started my first week of my sophomore year but only went to one day of class. :) I had a good reason for missing though. I played in the Colorado Women's Open as an individual. It was my second pro tournament and i managed to make the cut!! YAY! The first two days i played pretty solid golf shooting 72, 73 but on the last day the eighth hole decided that it should take me twice the amount of strokes it should take me to complete the hole. I finished with a 78 but learnt a lot about where i can improve for future tournaments.

The college season starts on September 10th down in New Mexico for their tournament. As per usual live scoring will be on golfstat.

Hope everyone is well

Kirsty xx
