Greg Norman Junior Masters

14 December 2017

17 and Under Div.

On the final day of some great competition, Tyler Duncan fought hard for his round of 73, however it is hard to make progress when a player in front of you is shooting a 6 under. This was the case today which left Tyler in 11th place. While a bit disappointed, he should be excited to be playing in such a talented field.

Golf Qld should be congratulated on running such a great event for juniors, one in which an 11 year old girl had her first hole in one and a 12 year old girl frantically called a rules official over on the 9th green - to tell him, "I'm only 3 over par!!".

Jade Longstaff returned an 82 today to finish in 12th place and unfortunately miss the cut for the final round on Thursday at Palmer Colonial.

The 17 and under boys shot some good scores today at Palmer GC, however Tyler Duncan wasn't among them and slipped from number 1 to 12th. He has however made the cut and we look forward to a good showing in the 4th round.

After two rounds of the 2017 GNJM at Palmer Colonial and Palmer Gold Coast, Tyler Duncan has a one shot lead in the 17 years and Under division. Rounds of 72/70 on the demanding courses are an excellent return and Tyler heads into the third qualifying round on Wednesday in command.

Jade Longstaff hasn't fared as well and after rounds of 86/84 (11th place 17 and under girls) needs a big day to survive the cut. Let's hope the putter behaves on Wednesday.
